The Reverend Robert R. Clark was born in Jersey Shore on April 25, 1913. He was graduated from Susquehanna University in 1935 and from the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Gettysburg, in 1938. The same year he was ordained by the Susquehanna Synod in Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury. He received his S.T.M. degree from Gettysburg Seminary in 1938 and did additional graduate study at Chicago Lutheran Seminary in 1945.

Pastor Clark was the minister of the Harleton charge, 1938-1943; the Port Royal charge, 1943-1950; and Trinity, Mechanicsburg, 1950-1955. Later, he became Editor for the Board of Publication of ULCA and LCA, 1955-1958; edited Weekly Church Bulletins, Light for Today, Ministers Information Service; author of "Confirm, We Beseech Thee," and writer of many quarters of the Augsburg Sunday School materials.

In 1968, he became the pastor of the Christ Casebeer Church, Sipesville. During his pastorate there, he has served as dean of the Somerset Ministerial Association, as secretary of the District, and as secretary-treasurer of the Somerset Ministerial Association.

Miss Kathryn Maize of Jersey Shore became the bride of Robert R. Clark on May 29, 1938. Their three children are Philip of Highland Park, New Jersey; Priscilla (Mrs. Larry Bashore) of Mechanicsburg; and Kathleen (Mrs. Darryl Kuhns) of West Chester. Priscilla and Kathleen were born in the Port Royal parsonage. Mrs. Clark died June 14, 1972, in Somerset and was buried in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
