OBITUARY for JOHN C. LEIDY

John C. Leidy, 50, died Thursday, June 22 [1972] in the Lewistown Hospital.

Born Oct. 20, 1921, the son of the late Russell S. Leidy and Katherine Irvin Leidy, he Is survived by his widow, the former Esther Fogleman; and one son, John C. Jr. and one daughter, Jennie Lou, at home.

Mr. Leidy was a block operator for the Penn Central Railroad, a real estate broker, an Elder in the Port Royal Presbyterian Church, foreman for the Port Royal Ambulance Club, and a Red Cross first aid instructor. He was also a member of the Union Lodge F&AM No. 324 of Mifflintown, Juniata Forest Tall Cedars of Lebanon No. 88, the Harrisburg Consistory, associate member of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, and the Brotherhood of Railway, Airlines, and Steamship Clerks.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, June 25 in the Stimmel Funeral Home, Port Royal with Rev. Douglas Heslip and Rev. Reide Bingaman officiating. Interment was made in New Church Hill Cemetery.
