This is the second house from the corner of Tuscarora and Second Streets. At one time it was owned by Otis Owens and his housekeeper Carrie Fisher. After the death of Otis, Carrie continued to occupy the house as Carrie McMullen. "Just ask any child growing up in Port Royal during the 40's about Carrie and you will get a variety of interesting stories. It was rumored this house was once a funeral parlor. Remember I said rumored. When Miss McMullen passed away ''Wib'' Shoemaker bought the property, remodeled the home and sold it to John and Mae Harris."

(The text in quotation marks are the recollections from JoAn Bashore Slautterback of the houses, owners, and occupants of Fiddlers Green, from the late 30s and 40s. as published in the Port Royal Times 2004.)
