On the corner of Tuscarora and 3rd there was a small house owned by Charles Rutherford. Charles worked in Harrisburg, but spent most weekends at his home in Port Royal. His sister Belle Rutherford lived there with him. He was a wonderful painter. I have a couple of pieces painted by him. This property is now owned by Jack Henderson and adjoins his home. Jack's father “Ace” Henderson and his mother, Pauline Bashore Henderson built the brick home now occupied by Jack and his wife Dottie. The ground on which the Henderson house is located was purchased from Melvin Crimmel.

(Recollection from JoAn Bashore Slautterback of the houses, owners, and occupants of Fiddlers Green, from the late 30s and 40s. as published in the Port Royal Times 2004.)
