This park and recreation area was established in 1993 on a 2.6 acre plot of land parallel to the Tuscarora Creek. It is located on land that at one time was part of the Lester Moyer Farm, eventually owned by his sons William and Harold "Whitey" Moyer. After William purchased a farm near Centre, Harold was the sole owner of the farm. It is located on the south side of East Fourth Street.
The land for the park was dedicated by Myrtle [Kline] Moyer in memory of her late husband Harold "Whitey" Moyer. (The proceeds from the "Old Home Days Celebrations" go toward maintaining and upgrading the park.)

GAZEBO DEDICATED AT MOYER PARK: On May 27, 2012 Moyer family members came to Port Royal for a memorial service for Myrtle Kline Moyer, who donated the land for the Moyer Park about 20 years ago in memory of her husband Harold "Whitey" Moyer. The gazebo was dedicated in memory of Daniel J. Moyer, son of Joe and Mary Moyer and grandson of "Whitey" and Myrtle Moyer.
