Bonny is the daughter of Abraham and Carol (Isenberg) Harbst. She was born in 1957. She lived in Port Royal 1957-59, returned and lived in Port Royal 1965-76. She married James "Greg" Ellis in 1976 and moved to Mifflintown 1976-1991. Greg and Bonny then purchased Marion Rice's home at 507 Market St and lived there with their sons Logan Ellis (dob 1986) and Landon (dob 1989).
In May 2010 the Ellises purchased her parents' home at 215 Milford Street.
Bonny worked as a legal secretary/office manager for Barron & Zimmerman in Mifflintown 1974-1987; worked as legal secretary and then litigation paralegal at McNees, Wallace & Nurick in Harrisburg 1987-2000; worked as Executive Assistant and HACC Foundation Board Manager at HACC (Harrisburg Area Community College) 2000-present.
