Park Gerhart was born in 1905 and died September 15, 1982. He was a graduate of Dickinson College and Pennsylvania State College. He taught at Port Royal and Tuscarora Valley and Juniata Joint High Schools. He was married to Lillian Hollinger and they had one son, Ronald.
Park and Lillian likely moved to Port Royal about 1930, since he first appears in the 1930 Port Royal High School Yearbook. Frances Crimmel's interview with Carlen McClure says that Park and Lillian lived in the apartment behind the First National Bank on Fourth Street before purchasing their house on Town Lane.
