This house sits on a large plot of land on the northwest corner of Milford and Eighth Streets. The house was built on the family farm by General Homer and Gertrude (Pomeroy) Groninger after his retirement at the end of 1945 and they lived in it until they passed away.

After the Groningers, Homer's sister and brother-in-law Sarah and Admiral John G. Crawford lived in the home.

(Port Royal was probably the only United States town of its size to have an Army General and Navy Admiral residing in the town at the same time.)

Eventually the property was acquired br Dwane Hart.
