William Saylor and Rachel Packard Taylor Saylor. William was the son of Isaac and Angeline Shreffler Saylor born in 1870 in Fermanagh Township. William married the widow of John W. Taylor on Feb. 4, 1897. Eventually the Saylors moved to Port Royal where they ran a store on Market Street for many years. They were very active in the Methodist Church. William served as tax collector for the town and held several other borough offices as well. On April 2, 1940 William was engaged as a substitute mail carrier when he was struck by a train while retriving the mail at the railroad station and he was killed instantly.
