John W. Taylor was the son of John W. and Eliza Yohn Taylor. Born on Jan. 23, 1854, died April 13, 1890, he was a blacksmith as was his father. He married Rachel Jane Packard the daughter of Johnathan and Ellen Packard on Sept. 4, 1879. Rachel was born on June 4, 1859 and died Feb. 18, 1948. She was a teacher at LaGrange and Pomeroy schools in her early life. The Taylors had four children: Wilbur Charles, Norman Leon, John Homer and Ethel Irene Taylor Weimer.
