In 1962 Port Royal celebrated its 150th Birthday. The celebration included a parade, beard growing contest and antique garb.

BRIDGE REPLICA RETURNS TO PORT ROYAL: This replica of the Mayer-Lehman Covered Bridge will return to Port Royal for the Bicentennial Celebration. The replica appeared in the Sesqui-Centennial Parade of 1962 as the Bashore Hardware float. The replica had been in Michigan since moved there from the Clint Bashore property in the late 1960s.
