Walter C. MCCAHAN

Walter grew up in the Licking Creek Valley with his sisters Laentena Shelley, Jane Book, and Rhoda Kepner. They were the children of Charles and Annie (Oberholtzer) McCahan. Eventually the family moved to Old Port. After a fire destroyed that home they moved to Port Royal. He married Mary Gray McCahan and they had 3 children- Joy M. Sheaffer, Charles "Sonny" McCahan, and Walter “Keith” McCahan. For many years he was the Juniata County Property Assessor.
