Jay Warren Shelley was a son of Amos and Anna Herr Shelley. He was born about 1880 and died at age 27 in 1907. He did his undergraduate studies at Bucknell University and had completed a residency in medicine at Pottsville Hospital in 1907 when he died of Rheumatic Vascular Heart Disease.
