From a collection of photos titled "Our Boys in the Military (1945)" Charles R. Ulsh served in Northern Italy where he was assigned to Squadron 29 PT boats. This squadron destroyed $70,000,000 worth of enemy shipping, sinking 27 ships, having lost one boat out of twelve. These PT boats are about 80 feet long and travel close to 70 mph at top speed, carrying four torpedoes and at least eight machine guns.

Charles Richard ULSH was the son of Edgar Addison and Christina R. (Long) Ulsh. He was born in Port Royal, 22 Feb 1925.
