WARREN B. KOHLER, 87, of Eighth Street, Port Royal, died at 6:00 a.m., Sunday, October 19, 2003, at his home.
He was born August 25, 1916 in Turbett Township, Juniata county, a son of the late Warren M. and Mary E. [McCormick] Kohler. His wife, Jane E [Towsey] Kohler, whom he married July 17, 1942, survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Richard B. Kohler, MD, Indiannapolis, IN and John A. Kohler, Carlisle; one daughter Mrs. Glen [Nancy] Kepner, Port Royal RR3, one sister, Mrs. Jessie C. Book, Sugarloaf, PA; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Darwin H. "Skip" Kohler and John M. Kohler.
He was a former owner and operator of the Kohler Farm Supply, Port Royal for 32 years.
He was a 1934 graduate of Lewistown High School. he attended Central Penn Business College, Harrisburg and Gettysburg College.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army working with supply and troop transport.
He was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church and had served on the church council, was a 50 year member of Union Lodge No. 324 F&AM, Mifflintown, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Juniata Valley Forest No. 88, a life member of Elks Lodge No 663, Lewistown and was a former member of Port Royal Lions Club.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Port Royal Lutheran Church with Rev. Anna M. Ritter officiating. Interment will be in the New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
Viewing was scheduled for 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal.

Warren served under Major General Homer Groninger in the US Army from 1941 to December 1945, starting out as an enlisted soldier in the regular army, entering Officers Candidate School at Mississippi State and finally being discharged as a Captain. This picture shows Warren with his wife the former Jane Towsey.
