Maude Elizabeth Kennedy was the daughter of James McBlair and Grace Irene (Kauffman) Kennedy. She was born February 20, 1912 and died May 23, 1992. She graduated from Port Royal High School in the Class of 1929.
OBITUARY for MAUDE E. KENNEDY
MAUDE E. KENNEDY, 80, of Orchard Hills Apartments, Mifflin, died Saturday, May 23, 1992, at her home.
Born February 20, 1912, in Spruce Hill Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late James M. and Grace I. [Kauffman] Kennedy.
A sister, Mrs. Carl [Mary Ellen] Mingle, Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin, survives.
She was a registered nurse, having been employed in the kidney research department of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. She had also worked for the Veteran's Hospital, Lebanon.
She was a graduate of Port Royal High School, the Philadelphia General Hospital, Class of 1933, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing Class of 1957, where she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
She was a veteran of World War II, having served as a U.S. Army nurse in Burma.
She was a member of the Port Royal United Methodist Church.
Services were held Wednesday, May 27 at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with Rev. Gerald D. Wagner, officiating. Interment was in the Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
Full military graveside services will be conducted by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
