At the far right of this picture is the building which first served as a bank and later as the post office. The 1929 photo shows the railroad bridge but not the river bridge which wasn't built until 1937. This photo shows both bridges in the distance.

These pictures was taken from the intersection of Market and Third Streets. This intersection represents the center of commercial activity in the town. The 1929 photo shows a building with a roof over the sidewalk. Eventually this building would become a restaurant and drug store. However the building does not appear in the 2009 photo because it was destroyed by fire.

Looking Toward the Bridge from Third Street. (If you look closely at the Railroad Bridge Ramp in the distance, you will see that there is a walkway on the right side of the ramp. This was likely removed when vehicular traffic became heavier. Since then there is a walkway only on the left side of the ramp.)
