OBITUARY for W. KEEMER DETRA
W. KEEMER DETRA, 71, Thompsontown RD1, died Tuesday, November 20, 1984 at the Lewistown Hospital.
He was born May 10, 1913 in Walker Township, the son of the late Bradford and Laura Stroup Detra. His wife, Martha Fogleman Detra, whom he married June 4, 1930, survives.
Other survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Russell (Geraldine) Wagner of Port Royal, Linda Detra of Trevose, Mrs. Carl (Cindy) Wise of Mifflintown RD2; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, William G. Detra.
He was employed and retired as superintendent for the Department of Transportation.
He was a member of the Locust Run United Methodist Church. He was the church treasurer for 30 years, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Men's Bible Class, a member of the Locust Run Community Association, the men's Democrat Club and the caretaker of Locust Run Cemetery.
Services were held at the Locust Run United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Halderman and the Rev. William Scott officiating. Interment was in the Thompsontown Lutheran Cemetery.
Guss Funeral Home, Mifflintown, was in charge of the arrangements.
