Charles Wisehaupt "Chatter" Book was the son of Charles Cleon and Anna Jane (Wisehaupt) Book. He was born November 15, 1912 and died about March 24, 1974. He graduated from Port Royal High School in the Class of 1930. He was married to Elizabeth Agnes Broadbent.
OBITUARY for CHARLES WISEHAUPT BOOK
CHARLES W. BOOK, 61, of Mexico, was found dead at his home Sunday, March 24 [1974] from a heart seizure.
He was born Nov. 15, 1912, in Spruce Hill Township to the late Charles and Anna Wisehaupt Book. He was married to the former Elizabeth Broadbent who preceded him in death.
Surviving are: two sons, C. George of Mifflintown, RD2 and William B. of Belleville, a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Elizabeth Jane) Cortale of Rocky Point, Long Island, a brother John H. of Port Royal RD2 and seven grandchildren.
Book was a retired farmer and the tax assessor for Walker Township. He was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church, Walker Grange, Juniata County Farmers Association and Holstein Friesian Association.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 am at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Henry G. Springer officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pennsylvania Heart Association.
