This is likely one of the oldest houses in Turbett Township. It sits near the Port Royal Reservoir in the Township and was the home of the Bowers Family. The three Bowers sons, Harry, George and S. Merton were at one time engaged in the lumber business and operated a saw mill in the vicinity of the house. The family also contained a daughter named Mary.
