This is a picture of the McClure farmhouse at 9843 Mountain Road, (Turbett Twp.), Port Royal, PA. Shown in the picture are the adults: (l-r) Emma (Groninger) McClure, her husband, George O. McClure and George's mother Margaretta (Kilmer) McClure. The children of George and Emma are: Elliott being held by his mother, Lillian, Margaretta and Leone. The picture was taken approximately 1911.

There is a house and two different barns pictured here. The first barn was replaced by the second barn in 1915. The house and barns were located on the George O. and Emma (Groninger) McClure Farm at 9843 Mountain Road in Turbett Township, Juniata Co., PA.

In 2009 the property was owned by Donna and Jeff Pontius. Jeff is a great grandson of George O. and Emma McClure.

MCCLURE BARN: This is a picture of the first barn on the George O. McClure property. The property is located at 9843 Mountain Road (Turbett Township), Port Royal and the picture was taken in 1914, one year before the barn was replaced. Shown in the picture are: (standing l-r) Margaretta Kilmer McClure (w/o Thomas Harvey McClure), George O. and Emma (Groninger) McClure; (in wagon) T. Furman McClure (brother of George), Elliott, Jessie, Lillian, Margaretta and Leone (children of George & Emma).

BARN RAISING ON MCCLURE FARM: This photo shows the workers taking a break to have their picture taken at the barn raising for George Orthy McClure. The barn raising occurred June 5, 1915 and is located at 9843 Mountain Road, (Turbett Township), Port Royal, PA.
