This is a double house that sits on the southwest corner of the intersection of Market and Fourth Streets. Until he built the current funeral home at 308 Market Street, this was the home of Joseph W. Stimmel. He had a cabinet making shop in the barn behind the house where he made furniture and caskets for his undertaker business. Sometime during the twentieth century it became the home of Harry S. and Gertrude (Groninger) Deen. After the Deens, John and Jean Taylor and sons lived in the house.
