This house sits on the southwest corner of the intersection of Market and Second Streets. At one time this house belonged to Samuel Keister. He operated a basement store from the house. A huckster, Mr. Keister would go about the country buying and selling things. He would get farm products and bring them back to town to sell. Later the building was the home of Cloyd "Pat" and Alberta (Calhoun) Rice. (Pat was a 5th and 6th Grade teacher at Port Royal Elementary School.) For the past fifty years, the house has been the home of the James and Anna Lois (Price) Hubler and their children William, James and Betty Ann. Since both James and Anna Lois are deceased the house appears to be for sale. (2009)
