Market St - Looking West from 3rd Street

Click On Image To Enlarge This is a view looking west on Market from Third Street. The first building to the left housed the offices of the Port Royal Times. The Pettit Store is on the right behind the gas street light. The funeral home is partially visible and the tower of the Lutheran Church can be seen just over the top of the trees. After the completion of the railroad, when commerce moved from Water Street to Market Street, Third and Market was the center of commercial activity for the town.

As of 2009, many of its businesses are closed and it no longer sees the commercial activity that it once experienced.
