OBITUARY for LARRY D.BRUBAKER
Larry D. Brubaker, 76, of Port Royal, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026 at his home in Groninger Valley.
Born March 25, 1950, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Darwin D. “Buster” and Ethel M. (Graybill) Brubaker.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat “Patsy” (Reagan) Brubaker, whom he married Aug. 4, 1973. Also surviving are three children, Jim Brubaker and wife, Tara, of Brooksville, Fla., Robin Deamer of Lewistown, and Doug Brubaker and wife, Beth, of Mifflin, five grandchildren, Carson Brubaker, Mackenzee Deamer, Khloe Deamer, Addysin Deamer, and Jordan Brubaker, four great-grandchildren, Kai, Harper, David, and Brynlee, two sisters, Peggy Palm of Mifflintown, and Susan Sharp and husband, Willis, of Stoystown, and Steve Brubaker and wife, Denise, of Missouri.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ira and Lucy Graybill and his paternal grandparents, Hudson and Phoebe Brubaker.
Larry graduated from Juniata High School in 1971 where he was actively involved with FFA and received the American Star Farmer Award.
He was a diesel mechanic who worked at various local farm equipment shops, last working at John Hosler Excavating.
He loved raising American Bulldogs, mowing, cooking, grilling, hunting, fishing, and sports. He truly loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He coached baseball and soccer when his children were in school and supported his grandchildren by attending their activities.
There will be a visitation for family and friends beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, at Heaven Bound Church, 25 S. Ridge Road, Mifflintown, followed by his Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. at the church with his son, Rev. Doug Brubaker, officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
