OBITUARY for JOHN K. WOLFE

John K. Wolfe, 63, of Port Royal, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born on November 14, 1961, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he is a son of the late Frank K. and Phyllis (Smith) Wolfe.

Surviving are his wife, Heidi (Bryner) Wolfe of Port Royal; two sons, Benjamin K. Wolfe and his wife Brandy of Honey Brook, PA, and Justin A. Wolfe and his wife Danielle of Mifflintown; four grandchildren, Ryatt, Easton, Ripp, and Emmett Wolfe; one sister in law, Debbie Wolfe of DE; two nephews, Jamie Wolfe and family of Gap, PA, and Thad Wolfe and family of DE; a special survivor being his beloved labrador “Otis” who was his constant companion in everything he did; and an honorary son, James Berrier.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert E. Wolfe and his aunt, Helen Wolfe Coder who helped raise him.

Mr. Wolfe was a 1979 graduate of Juniata High School in Mifflintown and attended Penn State University and Williamsport College.

He was employed as a Carpenter and a Construction Superintendent in the commercial construction trade by ECI Construction and oversaw many impressive building projects in the Central PA area.

John was taught to be a master gardener by his father and grew beautiful gardens to provide for his family. He also was an avid Bass Fishing enthusiast who fished in many Bass tournaments on the Juniata River and also enjoyed lake fishing. He made many fishing friends during the years and shared a special camaraderie with them – He was always seeking the biggest catch!

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. Samuel J. Leister officiating. Interment will follow in St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Wolfe’s memory can be made to Friendship Fire Company No. 1, P.O. Box 274, Port Royal, PA 17082.
