OBITUARY for IRMA LORRAINE (SHIRK) TABB WEIMER

Irma Lorraine Shirk Tabb, 90, of Port Royal, entered into eternal rest on April 26, 2025, at 10:25 am at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital. She was loved by many.

She was born May 6, 1934 in Yeagertown and was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Pearl (Batt) Shirk of Milroy. Her first husband, Charles Tabb, Sr, whom she married on Dec. 19, 1953, died March 4, 1988 and her second husband, William “Sonny” Weimer died on Aug. 8, 2009.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, “Eddie” Tabb, Jr. (Sharon) and siblings: Frank Shirk, Margaret Beward and Johnny Shirk.

She is survived by children, Linda Ehrenzeller (Marty) and James “Ricky” Tabb., grandchildren: Shirley Tabb, Earl Tabb, Wendy Ehrenzeller, Martin Ehrenzeller Jr., and Charles Tabb III and one sister, Rose Hockenberry (Tom). Irma also has many great grandchildren.

She drove school van for children with special needs.

Irma’s involvement in the community began with development of the Juniata County ARC in the 1980’s and her voice for demanding rights for persons with disabilities. Later she became involved in the Ladies’ Auxiliary at the Millerstown Moose and became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Most recently, Irma began attending the Rock Full Gospel Church in Mifflin.

When at home, Irma could be found in her recliner with her “Allie-cat”, crocheting afghans for everybody or chatting on Facebook with her friends on her Ipad.

There will be a viewing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1 at Rock Full Gospel Church. Following Irma’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, at Rock Full Gospel Church with Rev. Jerry Conley officiating. Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
