OBITUARY for RONALD HOOVER

Ronald L. Hoover, 82, of Port Royal, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Dec. 30, 1942, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late David Hoover and Marian (Weiss) Rhen. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Susan Hoover and his stepfather, Earl Rhen.

He dearly loved his family and is survived by his wife, Donna L. (Roher) Hoover whom he married April 1, 1961, four children, Debra Pipes and husband, Bradley, Lourie Kilmer and husband, Kevin, Randy Hoover and wife, Michele, and Lynn Hoover and wife, Wendy, seven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters.

He graduated from Central Dauphin High School in 1960 and retired from AMP where he was a finish carpenter.

He was a member and past master of Union Lodge No. 324 F&AM, and a member of Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shrine, and Tall Cedars.

He enjoyed square dancing and doing things for other people. He helped whoever needed assistance.

All services will be on Tuesday, March 18 at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown. The viewing will be from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A Masonic service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. by Union Lodge followed by the funeral service with Mark Brosius officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
