Anna Mae Bashore, 89, formerly of Mifflintown (Tyson Hill), passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Celebration Villa in Reedsville.

Born on February 27, 1935, in East Salem, Juniata County, she is a daughter of the late Jenny S. Lauver. On December 10, 1955, she married her surviving husband, John O. Bashore, with whom she was blessed to share over 69 years of marriage before her passing.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey O. Bashore and his wife Vickie J. Bashore and Rodney P. Bashore and his companion Samantha Bowsman; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Roger Bashore; one grandson, Jeremy Bashore; two brothers, Paul Lauver and Harold Lauver; and four sisters, Edith Lyons, Dorothy Dietz, Martha Delancey, and Esther Davis.

She was a 1953 graduate of Thompsontown High School where she was one of twelve graduating students.

In earlier life, Mrs. Bashore worked at Precisionware Cabinets and Lyon Fashions, after which she then became a loving and devoted mother and housewife.

She was a member of the East Salem Otterbein Church for many years.

Anna Mae loved being outdoors and working her flowers beds; however, her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as the kind of person who would worry about you more than herself.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Kenny Grove officiating. Interment will be private at Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Bashore’s memory can be made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111 or to Celebration Villa, 55 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, PA 17084.
