JOANNE M. CURL
Joanne M. Curl, 58, of Port Royal passed away on November 24, 2024, at Embassy at Hearthside, State College.
She was born in Milford Township, Juniata County on June 3, 1966, she was the daughter of the late Howard A. Burris and Ruth E. (Garman) Burris.
On January 12, 1985, she married her surviving husband, Douglas A. Curl.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Travis Curl and wife, Margaret and Christy Curl and husband, Corbin. Joanne is also survived by siblings, Mary Lose of Milesburg, Peggy Troy of Newport, Betty Burris of Thompsontown and Harold Burris of Mifflintown, as well as grandchildren Grant Curl and Nathan Reisinger. She was preceded in death by siblings, Danny Burris, Richard Burris, Donald Burris, William Burris, Robert Burris, Florence Strunk and Shirley Kauffman.
Mrs. Curl attended Grace Covenant Church at one time. She was a housewife and homemaker who stayed at home to raise her children. Earlier in life she worked at a tree farm and the UniMart and Pebbs where she made Pro Golf tee-shirts.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. Interment will follow at Academia Cemetery, Academia.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
