OBITUARY for MARY EVELYN ROMIG
Mary Evelyn Romig, 68 of Port Royal, passed away Friday April 12, 2024.
Born May 22, 1955 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Richard L. and Anna Bell (Weaver) Deavor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Burge; and sister in-law, Alice Miller.
Mary is survived by her husband, Larry H. Romig Sr., since June 9, 1973. Her children, Shelly Romig, of Union Hall, Virginia, Larry Joe Romig and wife, Missy, of Port Royal, Richard Romig and wife, Jessica, of Lewistown, and Rose Marks, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Nakeisha Earnest, Nataizsha Earnest, Keona Yoder, David (DJ) Palm, Amanda Palm, Brandon Whorley, Jacob and wife, Lindsay Royer, Gabriel Romig, Cheyenne Coudriet, Marissa Coudriet, Ryan Romig, Drew Finkenbiner, Gavin Knepp, Kennedy Romig, Payton Romig; great grandchildren, Serenity (Paige) Manning, Addison Manning, Colten Manning, Myah Dyal, Blake Palm, Lexi Royer; siblings, Harry, Danny, and Teresa Deavor; and brother in-laws, Harold Burge and George Romig Sr.
Mary was employed at Scotty’s Fashion and then retired from Empire Kosher after 32 years of working in the box room and laundry/supply room.
She enjoyed spending time with her dogs and family. She enjoyed going to the Port Royal races and watching her favorite driver, Lance Dewease. She was an avid fan of Philadelphia Eagle’s football. She also enjoyed going bowling, camping, yard sales, bingo, and taking cruises. She loved amusement rides with the grandkids or anyone that would ride with her.
Per Mary’s request there will not be a viewing.
There will be a celebration of life on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 6-8 pm at Lack Tuscarora Ems, 9320 Route 75S, East Waterford, PA 17021.
Meal is being provided by the members of the EMS, monetary donations to the EMS is welcomed and may be made on the website at bobperksfund.org.
Arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
