OBITUARY for JOHN CRAWFORD BARTON
JOHN C. BARTON, 82, of North Middleton Township, Carlisle, died Monday, June 16, 1997 at 6:00 a.m. at Chapel Point of Carlisle.
He was born March 6, 1915 in Tyrone, a son of the late John N. and Elizabeth [Crawford] Barton. His wife, Evelyn [Simonton] Barton, survives.
Also surviving are five children, Nancy E. Crowe, Wilmington, DE, Betsy I. Long, Mifflin, John E. [Jack] Barton, Shippensburg, Patricia A. Whitzel, Carlisle, and Charles W. [Bill] Barton, Melbourne, FL; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
He was a retired food inspector for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and also was the former owner/operator of Woodside Roller Skating Rink, Honey Grove.
He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church, Carlisle. Funeral services were held Thursday from Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, with Rev. Harold N. Imes officiating. Interment was in the McCoysville Cemetery.
