OBITUARY for RUTH E. WALTERS STONG

RUTH E. WALTERS STONG, 79, of Thompsontown, formerly of Port Royal RR1, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 1997 at her residence.

She was born March 31, 1918 in Hagerstown, MD, a daughter of the late Fredrick L. and Myrtle [Kessler] Walters. Her husband, Miles B. Stong, died June 10, 1980.

She is survived by three daughters, Alice A. Kelley, Mexico, Janetta Stong Swartz, East Waterford RR1, and Mary Worley, Port Royal RR1; two sisters, Mary Edmiston, Rehrersburg, and Dorothy Osman, Millerstown; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, a sister and a great-granddaughter.

She was a retired practical nurse for the Green Thumb Senior Citizens Nursing, Mifflintown, and was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Port Royal RR1

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, with Rev. David Biser officiating. Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Nook.
