OBITUARY for CAROLINE ROBINSON STERRETT

Caroline Robinson Sterrett, 86, of Arendtsville, PA, died Friday, August 3, 2007 in Raleigh, NC. She had moved there in December of 2006 to reside with her daughter after the death of her husband.

Born February 9, 1921 in Port Royal, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Myra McLaughlin Robinson Sr.

Her husband, Dr. William North Sterrett, died November 10, 2006.

Surviving are: three children, Bill Sterrett and wife Nancy of Downingtown, Beth Sylvester and husband Don of Raleigh, NC, Craig Sterrett and wife Vicki of Alpharetta, GA; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Sterrett, William Sternest, Ryan Sterrett, Erin Sterrett, Daniel Sylvester, Kristen Sylvester, Brian Sylvester and wife Julie and their son Nathan, Caroline's first great grandson.

Preceding her in death were: two sisters, Mary Margaret Robinson Hale, Jean Robinson; and a brother, Frank A. Robinson Jr.

She was a [1939 Graduate of Port Royal High School and a 1942 graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. After graduation, she accepted the position of Nursing Coordinator for the outpatient clinic of Presbyterian Hospital, a position she held until her marriage in 1949.

Mrs. Sterrett was a member of Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, the Gettysburg Hospital Women's Auxiliary, the Trilogy Club of Upper Adams County.

She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and was very active in Cubs Scouts and Girl Scouts.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 11, 10:30 a.m. at the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, 2O8 Baltimore St., Gettysburg, with the Rev. Dr. Daniel T. Hans officiating. A graveside interment will take place Saturday, August 11 , 9:30 a.m. in Greenmount Cemetery, Arendtsville. Both services are open to all.

Memorial donations may be made to Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, 208 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325. The Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, is in charge of the arrangements.
