OBITUARY for DONALD L. RHOADES
Donald L. Rhoades, 54, of Port Royal, passed away Friday, June 25, 2021, at Altoona UPMC Hospital.
Born on Aug. 5, 1966, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Donald Lee Isenberg and Patricia Ann (Rhoades) Elliott. Great-grandfather John L. Britcher helped to raise him.
He is survived by; daughters, Cassandra Rhoades, and Rachael Rhoades, both of State College; and siblings, Lori J. Lemin and husband, Dwayne, of Lewistown, and Shannon Elliott and wife, Tricia, of Ontario; many nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much; and lifelong friends, Nancy Kerstetter, Randy Kerstetter, both of Lewistown.
He attended The Salvation Army Church.
Donald attended Lewistown High School and later received his GED and he obtained a certificate for home inspection and small engine repair.
He was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard in Pennsylvania.
He worked as a custodian for Mifflin County School District, a caregiver at Supportive Concepts and most recently, he was employed at Keystone Human Services.
He was a member of the Blue Rock Sportsman Club, where he enjoyed trap shooting and shooting clay pigeons. He loved to spend time with his daughters, and his great-niece, Odessa, and nephew, Jasper.
A receiving of friends will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
Interment will be held at Lind Memorial Cemetery.
