BRIDGE WORK

The County Commissioners have awarded the contract for building a pier under the river bridge at Thompsontown to Benjamin C. Groninger, of Turbett township, for $2,387, he being the lowest bidder. Bids and bidders were as follows: G. T. Goodman, $2,700; W. W. Goodman $2,440; and B. C. Groninger, $2,387.

Work will be started next week on repairing the bridge crossing the Juniata River at Thompsontown. The work will be in charge of Mr. B. C. Groninger and while the repairs are being made, teams hauling more than a ton will not be permitted to cross the bridge.
