OBITUARY for KENNETH I. SWARTZ

Kenneth I. Swartz, 84, of Mifflintown, passed away at 11:30 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at his residence.

Born on Sept. 10, 1936, in Spruce Hill Township, Juniata County, he is a son of the late Frank W. and Viola (Clark) Swartz. On April 11, 1959 he married his surviving wife Evelyn E. (Eaton) Swartz, with whom he was blessed to share more than 61 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Gary K. Swartz and his wife Wendy, of Mifflintown, Janet D. Brosius and her husband Kirby, of Millersburg, Dudley K. Swartz, of Mifflintown, 3 siblings, Francie Kepner and her husband Earl, of Lewistown, James Swartz and his wife Betty, of Port Royal, Richard Swartz and his wife Faye, of Chambersburg, and he leaves behind four grandchildren, Amber Brosius, Logan Brosius, Chantz Swartz and Morgan Swartz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Swartz, and 3 sisters Kathryn Martz, Nellie Crawford and Verna Landis.

Mr. Swartz was a 1955 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown, and proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps.

He was a member of the Mexico Grace United Methodist Church.

He retired from Ohio Freight Trucking Co., with over 33 years of service and during his retirement he was employed by Brenner Automotive, Mifflintown.

Ken loved going to the Port Royal Speedway, frequent trips to the Hollywood Casino: however, his greatest joy came from attending all of his grandchildren sporting events.

A public graveside funeral service will be held at 11:30 am, on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from the Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.
