OBITUARY for RICHARD L. MILLIKEN SR.

Richard L. Milliken Sr., 72, of Port Royal, passed away at 4:21 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born March 7, 1948, in Tuscarora Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Harvey R. and Helen (Hockenberry) Milliken.

He is survived by his companion, Mary (Rhine) Scott, of Shermansdale; four children, Richard L. Milliken Jr., of Lewistown, Michael R. Milliken and his wife, Sherri, of Yeagertown, Michelle L. Shade and her husband, Joseph, of Burnham, Donald R. Milliken and his wife, Jennifer, of Mechanicsburg; siblings, Sandra Berrier and her husband, David, of East Waterford, Barry Milliken and his wife, Sharon, Timothy Milliken and his wife, Donna, all of Honey Grove, Brenda Bahorik and her husband, James, of Port Royal; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Milliken; a brother, Donald Milliken; and a great-granddaughter, Nora Milliken.

He proudly served his country with U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Milliken was a 1966 graduate of Tuscarora Valley High School in Port Royal, who loved the outdoors, being an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed dirt track racing, however, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends.

In 2008, Rick retired from Case New Holland of Belleville with 32 years of service.

A public graveside service will take place at noon Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, in the McCulluch?s Mills Cemetery, Honey Grove, with Pastor Gerald Miller officiating, where full military burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veteran?s Council.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Milliken?s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1375 Martin St., Suite 206, State College, PA 16803.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown.
