THE INDIAN CHAIR: On the ridge that is north of the Juniata County Fairgrounds is a block stone structure that is locally known as the Indian Chair. The structure gets its name from legend suggesting that the tribal chief would use the structure as a place from which to survey his domain. From the chair the chief would have a good view of the peninsula between the Tuscarora Creek and the Juniata River. It is on this peninsula that Perrysville-Port Royal will ultimately emerge.
