OBITUARY for NELLIE I. FREET

Nellie I. Freet, 77, of Port Royal, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital with her family by her side.

Born Oct. 8, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Paul E. and Mabel (Towsey) Kint.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold D. Freet, whom she married Sept. 29, 1962, one daughter, Denna Kay Freet of Honey Grove, one son, Daniel Harold Freet of Port Royal, one grandson, Brandon Allen Groce, one brother, Norman Kint of Port Royal, and one sister, Lena Beverlin of Mifflin.

She was preceded in death by an infant son in 1962.

Nellie worked as a seamstress in various local sewing factories throughout her life.

She was a member of A New Beginning Church and also attended Mexico Full Gospel Mission.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and canning and read her Bible every day. She loved taking care of her family. She also loved all animals, especially her dog, Zebbie.

There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, followed by her funeral at 8 p.m. with Pastor Charlie McKee officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, those who desire are asked to give a memorial contribution to a charity that benefits animals.
