William Donahey and James Carpenter were partners in the business of delivering eggs and poultry to the areas of Spruce Hill, Port Royal, Vandyke, Thompsontown and Van Wert. James Carpenter was eventually murdered by his son. After the death of James, William owned and operated a butcher shop on Market Street in Port Royal. William's shop was on the south side of Market (now 509, 511 and 513) between 5th and 6th Streets.
