OBITUARY for NORMAN B. GRAY
Norman B. Gray, 52, of Port Royal, died at 2:33 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, in the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital emergency room.
Born on March 28, 1964, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was a son of Nancy Lee (Horning) Gray, of Port Royal, and the late Raymond B. Gray. On Dec. 24, 1987, he married his surviving wife, Laurie A. (Ranck) Gray, with whom he was blessed to share nearly 29 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughters, Casey A. Gray and her companion, Kyle Kauffman, and Samantha R. Gray, both of Port Royal; a brother, Raymond Lee Gray and his wife, Kimbra Jo, of Port Royal; and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Karen Ann Gray and Cynthia J. “Cindy” Long, preceded him in death.
In earlier life, he attended the Port Royal United Methodist Church.
Mr. Gray was a lifelong farmer who had a passion for his work. For the past three years, he was employed as an equipment operator for Energex American, Mifflintown.
Norman loved the outdoors, hunting and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed over-the-road trucking with his good friend, Tim. His skill at preparing his barbecue chicken will long be remembered.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Charles Hershberger officiating. Interment will follow in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at the funeral home.
