OBITUARY for HELEN M. MCNEMAR

Helen M. McNemar, 85, formerly of Port Royal, died at 4:44 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the Spring Creek Rehab and Healthcare, Harrisburg.

Born Feb. 19, 1931, in Fayette Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Viola P. (Davis) Dressler. On Aug. 10, 1947, she married her late husband, Robert W. McNemar, with whom she was blessed to share more than 41 years, before he preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1988.

Surviving are: her children, Terry McNemar and his wife, Marleen, of Camp Hill, Galene Sellers and her husband, Larry, of Thompsontown, the Rev. Marlene Steenburg and her husband, the Rev. Terry, of Owego, N.Y., and Robin McNemar, of Philadelphia; siblings, Samuel Dressler, of Valley View Nursing Home, Belleville, Esther Henry, of Lewistown, Annabelle Goodling, of McAlisterville, Lora Ann Riggin, of Arizona, and Rayona Eaton, of Honey Grove; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

A sister, Ruth Goodling, and 5 brothers, Kenneth Dressler, Simon Dressler, Lawrence Dressler, Ceylon Dressler, and Paul Dressler preceded her in death.

In earlier life she worked at the L. Shellenberger Shirt Factory, McAlisterville, and Precision Ware, Thompsontown. Later she served as a CNA for the Selinsgrove Center and several other nursing homes until her retirement in 2001 from Manor Care, Harrisburg.

Helen enjoyed walking, shopping, cooking, and outdoor activities.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, from the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with her daughter and son-in-law the Revs. Marlene and Terry Steenburg officiating. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown.

Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
