OBITUARY for HELEN M. SEACRIST

Helen M. Seacrist, 83, of Port Royal, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015, at her home.

Born Nov. 7, 1931, in Blain, Perry County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Mabel G. (Shields) Gray.

Her husband, William P. Seacrist, preceded her in death on May 12, 1971.

Surviving are a daughter, Mindy K. Bargo and husband, Stephen L., and a son, William A. Seacrist, all of Port Royal, one granddaughter, Brittney S. Hartsock, and a great-grandson, Damien J. Harple.

She was the last of her immediate family, being preceded in death by two brothers, William Gray and Arthur Dale Gray, and a sister, Anna Louise Dum.

Helen was a graduate of the Blain Union High School. She had worked as a seamstress at the former Rae-Sel Corp. in Port Royal and at the former Lyon's Fashions in McAlisterville. For many years she cleaned for the Port Royal Laundromat.

Mrs. Seacrist was a member of Port Royal Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed sitting on her swing in the back yard. Her great-grandson, Damien, was the light of her life.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Charles L. Hershberger officiating.

After the service, interment will take place at New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.

The viewing will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in Helen's name may be made to the Port Royal Lutheran Church Handicapped Fund, P.O. Box 267, Port Royal, PA 17082.
