OBITUARY for WESLEY H. HOSTETTER
PORT ROYAL - Wesley H. Hostetter, 30, of Port Royal, died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident while responding as a first provider in Tuscarora Township, Juniata County.
Born on Sept. 3, 1982, in McConnellsburg, Fulton County, he is a son of A. Eugene and Carol Ann (Hege) Hostetter, of Spring Run. On Aug. 12, 2006, he married his wife of more than six years, Tya S. (Arentz) Hostetter, who survives.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by: one sister, Sarah A. Hostetter, of Spring Run; his natural father, Wesely Carbaugh and his wife, Diana, of Romney, W.Va.; his in-laws, Chet and Robin Arentz, of East Waterford; a sister-in-law, Cindy Foody and her husband, Quinn, of East Waterford; a brother-in-law, Derrick Arentz and his companion, Andrea, of Lewistown; a maternal grandmother, Betty Hege, of Shippensburg; a paternal grandfather, Amos N. Hostetter, of Mohnton; natural paternal grandmother, Louise E. Carbaugh, of McConnellsburg; three natural brothers, John A. Barrett, Wes A. Barrett and Christopher Lee Barrett, all of Romney, W.Va.; and he leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Leah Foody, Makenna Foody and Noah Foody, as well as Madison Arentz, Isaac Arentz, Alexis Arentz and Dylan Arentz.
One son, Brayden Hostetter, preceded him in death, in infancy.
His memberships included: the Lost Creek Mennonite Church, Oakland Mills, Lack-Tuscarora EMS, Central Juniata EMS, Beale Township Volunteer Fire Department, East Waterford Volunteer Fire Department and Fannett-Metal Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Hostetter was currently employed by Synergy Ag Service, Chambersburg.
Wesley loved being outdoors, working in his garden and also working with his dad growing potatoes. Being a true outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter who enjoyed riding horses. He could always be found tinkering with small engines and working with wood. With his willingness to always help other people in any way he could, he fulfilled his lifelong passion of being a dedicated EMT and volunteer fireman. In addition to serving his community, he cherished the time that he spent with his family, especially his precious nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Lack-Tuscarora EMS Building, 9320 state Route 75 South, East Waterford, with Pastor Sherman Stoltzfus officiating. Interment will follow in East Waterford Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Lack- Tuscarora EMS Building, East Waterford.
