OBITUARY for GLEN M. JUNK

GLEN M. JUNK, 85, of Gardners, died Thursday, February 14, 2008, in the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.

Born January 16, 1923 in Honey Grove, he was a son of the late Jesse and Zola McClure Junk. He was the widower of Florence L. Rice Junk who died May 6, 2000.

Mr. Junk was a retired carpenter with Carpenter’s Local No. 287. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of Mt. Holly Springs Church of God, Carpenter’s Local No. 214 Retiree’s Club No 87 and Union Lodge No. 324, F&AM, Mifflintown.

Surviving are his companion, Martha Scherb; a son, Carl G. Junk of Tuscon, AZ; three daughters, Evelyn F. Eshelman of Gardners, Beverly A Shover of Aspers and Donna K. Brewster of Dillsburg; a sister, Iva Book of Mifflintown; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

His funeral was held Tuesday, February 19, from the Ronan Funeral Home, Carlisle where Masonic Services were conducted by Cumberland Star Lodge No. 197 F&AM. Rev. Richard Reese officiated and burial followed in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
