Wendell Rice HAINES

Private Wendell Haines, Company G, 208th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, was born September 13, 1843. He took part in the battle of Petersburg. Then his company was sent to do guard duty at Appomatox Court House, Va., remaining there for a few months. He was discharged at Alexandra, Va., June 1, 1865. Wendell Rice Haines was a son of John R. and Elizabeth C. (Neiman) Haines. He was born September 13, 1843 in Turbett Township and died April 18, 1928.

He married Martha Tibbins and they had the following children: Nellie, Viola, Harry, Jacob, James and four additional daughters..
