Ellen Pomeroy was a daughter of William Culbertson and Ellen (Crawford) Pomeroy. She was born March 2, 1891 and died April 4, 1965. She was a graduate of Airy View Academy and Wilson College.
In 1915 she began teaching at Port Royal High School and taught there intermittently for a number of years. She had also taught 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades in the Port Royal Elementary School in 1913-14.
