Charles Telfer was a son of John M. and Mary Ida (Moyer) Telfer. He was born in Doyles Mills, December 19, 1902 and died in Lewistown, Pa., March 21, 1958.
He was a graduate of Port Royal High School in 1923 and Gettysburg College in 1927. He taught at Port Royal High School in the late 1920s and early 1930s. He and his brother owned and operated the grist mill in Old Port for a number of years. He married Blanche Tressler and they had two children Nancy and Charles William.
