RICHARD P. ‘HAM’ WERT
PORT ROYAL - Richard P. "Ham" Wert, 72, of Port Royal, died at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born on May 24, 1941, in Port Royal, he was the son of the late Park R. and Ruth (Zendt) Wert.
He is survived by nieces, Gina L. Cooper and husband, Clifford, of Mifflintown, Brenda L. Fultz and husband, Darwin, of Lewistown, and Stacy R. Wagner, of Mifflintown, and nephew, Keven W. Wagner and wife, Anita, of Port Royal.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol A. Wagner, on Feb. 9, 2011, and longtime companion, Dolores E. (Hostler) Beers, on Oct. 30, 2002.
He was a graduate of Port Royal High School and was the owner and operator of Royal Beverage, Port Royal, for many years.
A private graveside service will be in New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, with the Rev. Charles L. Hershberger officiating. Family and friends will be received at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Port Royal Lutheran Church social room for a luncheon.
Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, is in charge of arrangements.
